The Geo-Intel Lab stands at the forefront of India’s geospatial revolution—powering data-driven solutions for governance, innovation, and societal impact. Established under the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) at IIT Tirupati, the lab serves as a national platform for advancing Geospatial Intelligence, Remote Sensing, GNSS, PNT, Digital Twins, and AI-powered decision systems.
In alignment with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, the Geo-Intel Lab is committed to building a future-ready India—where spatial thinking enables inclusive development, precision technologies improve livelihoods, and open geospatial ecosystems accelerate public service delivery.
To become India’s premier center for geospatial and PNT innovation, enabling a Viksit Bharat through the development of intelligent applications and platforms that serve public good and transform governance.
Advance interdisciplinary R&D in geospatial analytics, GNSS, PNT, remote sensing, and spatial AI
Design scalable applications and digital platforms for ministries, urban local bodies, and public service delivery
Build federated national repositories and open data ecosystems
Develop indigenous solutions in positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT)
Enable Digital Twin platforms and decision dashboards for infrastructure, climate, and disaster management
Drive capacity building via training programs, academic networks, and national challenges
Promote open innovation by connecting academia, startups, government, and industry
Support India’s Digital Governance mission through impact-oriented tools aligned with the National Geospatial Policy
Our lab is not just about research—it is about building real-world solutions that serve people, systems, and the nation.
Rooted in the principles of public good, the lab enables:
Real-time spatial monitoring for disaster management, urban resilience, and climate adaptation
Open data platforms that empower citizens, researchers, and policymakers alike
Skilling and capacity-building through programs like VidyaGIS and Train-the-Trainers
Startup incubation and research translation for impact at scale
Whether it's enhancing crop forecasting, planning smart cities, or tracking carbon emissions, our tools and platforms are designed to create measurable outcomes for people and the planet.
As India accelerates its Digital Governance mission, the Geo-Intel Lab supports:
Geo-enabled decision-making systems for ministries, line departments, and local governments
Federated data infrastructures aligned with the National Geospatial Policy 2022
Digital Twin technologies to simulate, analyze, and optimize infrastructure and environment
Geo-AI frameworks for predictive analytics, satellite imagery interpretation, and anomaly detection
Through our partnerships with academia, industry, and government, we are transforming how the nation visualizes and solves its most pressing challenges
Join us in shaping a geospatially empowered India, where innovation meets impact—where Spatial Intelligence becomes the backbone of a Viksit Bharat.
